Dundas History – Desjardins Canal

Once upon a time…back in 1837, the Desjardins Canal ran up into Dundas; only a trickle exists today – and nothing ye could float more than a raft in.

If you’ve never visited Brian Henley’s Blog, it’s a great resource for photos and information about Hamilton’s history. His recent post shows just how grand this canal was and how much transport came into the tiny village of Dundas.
